  • Do your rentals include unlimited mileage?

    While all of our rates include some free miles, none include unlimited mileage. However, since our rates don’t have to include extra dollars to protect against high-mileage situations, and we don’t charge for additional drivers, our total charges are usually less than those offering unlimited miles. Please stop by or call so we can calculate an accurate estimate based your specific needs.

  • Can I take your vehicles out of state?

    While many rental companies restrict the area of travel allowed (in order to limit their unlimited mileage exposure) we have no restrictions on travel in the United States or Canada. In fact, travel to Mexico is possible as well, but requires our prior approval, special documentation and Mexican auto insurance.

  • What are the requirements for renting a van?

    You must be at least 25 years old, have a valid drivers license, and a major credit or debit card on which we can preauthorize charges. All drivers must be at least 21 years old.

  • Why do I have to pay a $50.00 deposit?

    At rent-a-van, we do not do any overbooking, so your deposit assures that you will have a van available. Because we only make reservations for the number of vans that we have available, you will be charged for the number of days that the van is reserved even if it is returned early. Subsequently, late returns are not permitted. A double daily charge may be requested if a van is not returned as scheduled.

  • Am I responsible to pay for my gas?

    The van will be full of gas when you pick it up and we ask that you return it full. If the van is not full upon return, we will fill it, add a $5.00 service charge and add the cost to your total charges.

  • Can I use my own auto insurance?

    Because individual policies differ, we encourage customers to call their insurance agents to find out if their coverage extends to rental vehicles. If you have your own coverage, you can decline ours. We offer a Physical Damage Waiver (PDW) for $24.95 per day, which has a $500.00 deductible. This PDW includes Loss of Use. Loss of Use is also available separately for $4.95 per day.

  • What if the vehicle has mechanical problems while I am traveling?

    By offering late-model, lower-mileage vehicles, we minimize potential mechanical issues. However, there is always a chance that a problem may occur. We have a 24-hour answering service that you can reach by calling our business number. The answering service will put you in contact with one of us and we will assist you as quickly as possible.

  • Where do I pick up and return the van?

    Vans are available for pick up at either our Lincoln or Omaha location and they must be returned to the point of origin.

  • What if I need to return a van after your business hours?

    We provide a key drop for our customer’s convenience. However, customers are responsible for the condition of the vehicle until the next business morning and the first opportunity for the vehicle to be checked in by a rent-a-van employee.

  • Can I leave my vehicle on your lot?

    We do have parking available and many customers leave their vehicles on our lots. Our lots are not fenced, locked or protected by security, so this is at your own risk.

  • Am I responsible for cleaning the van before I return it?

    We will clean the inside and outside of the van upon its return. However, there is the potential for a clean-up charge if the van is returned excessively dirty, inside or out. We will charge a fee if exterior window paint is used on the van.

  • Can the van be smoked in?

    We have a no-smoking policy that we strictly enforce. There will be a $100.00 charge if a vehicle is smoked in. We will also carefully inspect for any damage related to smoking (e.g. cigarette burns on upholstery).
